Just out of curiosity, as I'm considering a build like this myself, did you have end up using the MRR or IUR upper? Was considering the IUR but I haven't hsd the chance to see if the AEM collar extension will fit up against the IUR rail as it has a very short barrel that barely protrudes.

DeleteI'm going to use a spare IUR upper from the 15.7" C8, which isn't exactly clone correct. A better one would be the SAS 10" upper, but you would still need to mill off the grenade launcher lug. Then you'd have to pull the barrel and install the 11.5" barrel from the MRR.
The AEM collar won't work with the 10" SAS barrel because it's too short, and if you chopped the 15.7" barrel down to the correct length, the barrel diameter is still too thick for the AEM collar, hence you need the 11.5" barrel from thr MRR.
