4wheeling in Squamish turns into a 2wheel tow

So, me and a couple of pals went up to Squamish to do a little long range shooting, but we were foiled by adverse trail conditions and my Jeep crapping out on me.

Just had a new radiator put in not long ago, and just a few weeks ago a new thermostat, water pump, and new rad hoses....yet here I was overheating the bastard.

Then I was getting stuck in a bit of snow and ice and had to rely on Jay and Arthur to tow me out on multiple occasions.

Jay towing someone else out, but I won't mention who, haha!

Anyway, the rest of the guys did some shooting at 150m, because that's about all we had access to, and time was running out.  I found a small bern to zero my two 10/22s and try out my new shotgun.  I was too pissed to take a lot of pictures....maybe next time.

The reason that my Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 AWD with fairly new Yokohama Geolander M/Ts failed in the snow was because I broke the driver's side front drive shaft.  Arthur and Jay heard a clanking sound which got louder on the trails.  When Art took a peek, he saw the torn CV boot with all the grease grenaded everywhere.

Back to the shop again....should have a new Jeep soon, with all the *ucking parts I've replaced on this thing.  Had a scare that the overheatin might be the head gasket going, but Carline did a pressure test on it and said it was fine.  So the troubling thing still remains, why is the Jeep still overheating?  Regualr city driving is fine, but it doesn't seem to like going into the Squamish valley.

My Jeep's been sorta acting up the last few months where the tranny would slip a bit if I was too hard on the gas.  Three of my pals helped me out in this department.  Jay and Justin were both under the truck for about 8 hours trying to yank the think in my driveway.

Let's just say there was a lot of cursing and hurling of wrenches and insults.

A few days after they got the tranny out, it was off to my pal Roy for a rebuild.  He had the thing apart, cleaned and half-way reassembled in under three hours.  It was like watching a surgeon at work, you had to have been there.  The thing was covered in an inch of mud and you could barely find the bolts, but it was barely a hindrance for him. 

Apparently, it's bad if these discs have metal exposed....it means their worn out.

He had the parts so cleaned, I thought it would be a shame to reinstall the tranny back onto my filthy truck.

These were just a few of the parts he removed from the transmission.  There were like a thousand pieces all over the workbench and he had the order all in his head.  I was getting a headache just thinking about what order they were supposed to be in.

J1 Metalfab Custom Rear Bumper

My buddy Jay built the custome front bumper for my ZJ as well as the roof rack and last week, he added the final touches to my truck with a custom rear bumper and tire carrier. Since I carry my spare on the roof rack, he's going to convert the swing to a jerry can carrier or something. Thanks Jay!
